What chances does the trend sport Soccer offer to you?
Football/soccer is the most popular sport in the world! More than 10 million Germans are playing football more or less actively. Also, in view of the World Championship in Germany in year 2006, soccer offers an enormous potential.
In many countries, outdoor soccer has long been established (Five-a-Side, Calcetto Cinque etc…), whereas in Germany it took quite some time until an alternative to the formerly practiced street football developed. Soccer courts offer new possibilities for the rising football generations, which cannot be satisfied by the clubs and public football fields. But basically the soccer idea was taken up in Germany, because there is a tremendous over-capacity of tennis halls. Regarding room and height requirements, the measures of an indoor tennis court are also ideal for a soccer court (30x15 m).
The German climates with an average of 120 rain days per year justify investments in indoor courts. However, there are also good marketing prospects for outdoor soccer.
In the past two years, some 30 soccer courts have been installed alone in the region of Cologne and the experiences made are encouraging. Only when the supply of soccer facilities is area-covering, soccer will enter into the consciousness of the consumers as being a "trend".
