Other elastic sub layers
Besides our favoured factory elastic non-woven backing, there are alternative spot elastic sub-constructions, which may help to improve the comfort of your tennis carpet.
On the one hand, there are Regupol elastic rubber mats, available in various thicknesses between 4 to 8 mm and on the other hand an elastic foam mat, which is fortified on the upper side by a glass fibre tissue for better durability.
As both types of elastic sub-layers needed to be installed and glued separately,
the disadvantage compared to factory elastic non-woven is above all the price,
which is considerably higher.
And yet, all these elastic layers offer a high quality opportunity to be ahead
of competing halls in the neighbourhood.
Foam backings should not be applied for tennis carpets, since – as our experience of the past 20 years has shown – the latex used normally ages prematurely because of the large strain due to the tennis sport and therefore the carpet does not reach its usual lifetime.
